6EQUJ5 : The Wow! Signal

Hello dear space lovers,

In the present text, I am going to explain the mystery signal from space: 6EQUJ5.

The signal was a strong narrowband radio signal received on August 15, 1977, by Ohio State University's Big Ear radio telescope in the United States, and later it is used to support the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. The signal was coming from the direction of the constellation Sagittarius and had the expected features of its extraterrestrial origin. So, the biggest question appears, ‘’Does the wow signal come from an extraterrestrial life?''

First of all, I would like to you to listen the signal before reading the truths.

An alphanumeric code was used in the project to record the signal density according to the signal-to-noise ratio. On a scale ranging from 1 to 35, 1-9 were represented numerically, and 10-35 were represented with letters. The Wow! signal read as “6EQUJ5”, meaning it reached a peak signal-to-noise ratio of 30 (Figure 1) (Charbonneau, R. (2018, August 28). The mystery of the "Wow!" signal from 1977, has finally solved by a team of researchers with the Center of Planetary. They reported that there was an unknown comet during the signal discovery. 

So, it was only two comets that made us curious and think about aliens.
